Ratings

British Board of Film Classifications
BBFC is a an organisation that rates the age rating for movies and TV programs. This is British rating system. its a non profit organisation that aims to regulate everything correctly.

U- Means everyone can watch it, it is Universal for children 4+. anyone under 4 it will be a specific label instead of U. There might be Kissing/cuddling but there will not be any sexual jokes. Violence wont be used in the movies but there might be action scenes. Its subtle movies and quite calming

PG- Parental guidance;. Unlikely sex references, if there are ones then little children wont understand. Mild swearing such as shit could be said but less likely. No real gore you just see an imply wound shown or maybe a little splatter of blood.

12A/12- the A represents Adult so you cant watch them without being with an adult and you can be any age aslong as you are with an adult. Strong language such as Fuck can be used and sexual jokes and imply sexual scenes can be used but to a certain degree

15- Strong violence and sexual activities are allowed, sexual nudity and drug taking can be shown. Discrimination language and behaviour can be allowed. In 15 can get away with a lot more than they used to be so sexual activities in movies can be shown and a lot of gory violence can be used.

18- Extreme gore, Extreme language and Extreme sexual content. Majority is allowed but there is a point of extremity where it can not be allowed

R18-  Pornographic imagery and gore and yeah...

Elephant
http://www.bbfc.co.uk/case-studies/elephant
This is a 15 due to the amount of bad language is used through out the movie as this movie is based on the leading up to a school shooting but told by multiple perspectives.

Proposal

Proposal
The idea of my short film is a teenager has joined a secret organisation that currently at war with another organisation so he has to carry out a certain task to help out his organisation to get an upper hand on the opposition. The teenager get spotted by one of the oppositions member and a chase ensues, he then manages to escape the pursuer so he finishes his task and goes home, as he enters home his mum asks him how school was and he reply’s with “eh average”.

During the chase I will use a crosscutting affect to and suspense during the scene, there will mostly be jump cuts but no real special effects that will be necessary as I am aiming to create soothing that’s not really overly complicated to add to the feature of the actual film itself. The film will mostly have no diegetic sounds such as background music and urban noises. There might be some diegetic sound such as the sound of impact during the chase scene but nothing too special. There will be a lot of different shot implemented into the actual fil there will be an intense close up of the character and the deal that’s going down. I will have a wider shot for the chase scene and a shallow shot for when he talks to his mother.

The sound track that will be playing in the back ground will be a faint but subtle intensity to it, I hope this will cause a rather dramatic affect for the chase scene and cause the audience to be at awe with the film. Other music will be of thing such as an opening which I haven’t decide whether or no I want a calm opening or a progressive opening.

My audience for this project will appeal to people such as student who like action films or mysterious films its aimed for people who is rather mature that can get what’s actually happening.

Questionnaire analysis

Questionnaire Analysis Plan
Task 1
After taking completing your questionnaire of a minimum of 5 questions, distributing your questionnaie via Facebook and tallying the information, you will create a 300 word analysis with supporting documentation.
Complete the following handout to plan out your analysis:

What type of research did you do? Primary Research

Who was your target audience?, Why? My target audience will be students as that’s who I am showing my content too

How could this information help improve your short film?
It can help me create a film that the majority of the people enjoy

Below give a summary of your results:
The majority of people who did my questionnaire said they enjoy comedy and the explained why

Look at your results, what do they say?
The results tell me that everyone like different movies for different reason which will become quite hard in the long run

How will you present this information?:

Summarise the process and evaluate what impact it will have upon your short film:
The Survey mainly told me that a common Genre of movie was comedy and people like it for it funny nature, it also states that there are secret inside genre such as comedy which could be the reason its funny
